Swimovate is an exciting company founded in November 2007 by triathletes in the United Kingdom, developing innovative, affordable electronic training products for sports. We may be small but we have sold tens of thousands of watches all over the world and made a difference to the lifes of many, many swimmers.
We always lost count of the number of laps we swam which was really annoying. Our research told us we were not alone. All lap counters on the market were manual devices requiring the swimmer to touch the device in some way at the end of each lap. If you forget to count then you can forget to do this. Athletes are now used to Speed and Distance computers for other sports such as running and cycling- what about swimming? We wanted an affordable, discreet and fully automatic solution- so we developed the PoolMate.
The Swimovate team have extensive experience in electronic and software design, development and manufacture. We have many industry links worldwide so can bring our products to you at affordable prices with excellent quality. We are committed to providing impeccable customer service and finding workable solutions to some of those training niggles we all have. We take all available steps to protect our technology and patent it. We are enthusiastic age group triathletes and have competed in a wide range of events from Super sprints at Dorney Lake, Eton to Ironman events around the world, even the extreme Norseman Triathlon in Norway.
We would like to encourage other entrepreneurs and Lisa has spoken about our PoolMate development experiences at the Royal Institution and British Library in London at several conferences and events to hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs. We have won numerous business awards including Enterprising Women of the year SET award 2009, runner up in Everywoman Athena awards 2010, Special recognition award 2011 from European Women Inventors and Innovation Network (EUWIIN) and the Nectar Small Business awards, Entrepreneur of the year 2011 judged by Karren Brady from The Apprentice!
Here’s a video of Lisa talking about our story and the award.
We have been through a fantastic journey to get here and had so much fun. We hope you will find our watches really helpful and welcome all feedback so we can make future versions even better.
